ENGLISH VERSION: Today’s Bible Verse (20.04.2022):
VERSE:
I will accept you with your sweet savour, when I bring you out from the people, and gather you out of the countries wherein ye have been scattered; and I will be sanctified in you before the heathen. (EZEKIEL 20:41 KJV)
EXPLANATION:
God loves you! But the intention within you may be the opposite. But, that is not true. God has always loved you. You are the sweet smell of the Lord.
Whether you like the aroma of coffee in the early morning or the smell of your favorite food may have stimulated your desire! Doesn’t all these fragrances bring some kind of happiness within us! Each scent reminds us of different things. All these scents make us feel a certain fragrance. Likewise, we too are a pleasing aroma before God. He remembers us whenever we look to Him and worship Him.
There is a scent to our prayers. It is through that fragrance that God is pleased. In the Old Testament, God commanded the priests of Israel to continue to burn incense made from the mixture of the five spices on the holy altar. God showed them a recipe for the fragrance to be raised before Him.
Incense is no longer needed because Jesus Christ redeemed us by shedding His blood on the cross. We are raised as incense pleasing to God. Today our prayers go before God as incense pleasing to Him. Our prayers are very dear to him. It’s expensive. The prayers of the saints are ascended into heaven like golden bowls filled with incense. (Revelation 5: 8).
God said to sacrifice for the sins of the people. When offering sin offerings, the fragrant aroma that arose from that sacrifice pleased God. They did this to let God know that people repented. Every time man sins, it makes sense that they repent of their sins through the atoning sacrifice. God sniffed that scent and forgave them.
To this day, Jesus has sacrificed His life for us on the cross. When we repent of our sins and come to the cross, the fragrance of repentance pleases God. God expects a repentant heart in us. He forgave us by paying the penalty for our sins on the cross 2000 years ago. All we have to do is seek that forgiveness and receive it. God does not want “vain” compromises.
“Sacrifices to God are a broken spirit; O God, thou hast forsaken a broken and crushed heart.” (Psalm 51:17). God still accepts it when you repent today. He wants a pleasant presence that reminds you of him. Christ is able to deliver you no matter what sin you are in today. He has a lot of forgiveness.
“… I will graciously forgive their transgressions, and will remember their sins and their iniquities no more, saith the LORD” (Hebrews 8:12).
PRAYER:
Dear Lord! How wonderful is your love. Thank you for sacrificing yourself on the cross. Thank you for giving your body and blood to atone for our sin. Forgive all my sins. Thank you that I am pleasing in your sight. I pray in the holy name of Jesus Christ Good Father, Amen!
