ENGLISH VERSION: Today’s Bible Verse (15.01.2023):

VERSE:
Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. (PSALM 37:4 KJV)

EXPLANATION:
Today’s promise is found in Psalm 37:4 where it says, “Take delight in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart.” It says, “Take delight in God.”

It is true that, God is perfect. There is nothing wrong in Him. So sometimes we hesitate to go to the Lord seeing His perfection. We wonder how to approach such a perfect God with our flaws and failures. We even struggle go to Him. We think, “How does such a perfect God accept the prayers of such a bad man like me. How can I go ask Him anything? I wonder what He would think about me. He would see me as so low and of no value.”

But this verse says: Take delight in the Lord. Enjoy going to Him. Don’t thing let anything restrict to you. Go and ask Him forgiveness and the Lord is waiting to take you in.

In Luke, we see the story of the Prodigal Son. He squandered the wealth of his father and spent it in wicked ways. Yes, the son made all mistakes and bad things against his father. He thought I can go to my father and to father’s house and ask forgiveness and beg him to make me his servant.

But he went and told this to his father but, his father completely disregarded his sin and he said, “I will never make you my servant. Instead, I am going to give you a new robe and new shoes and new ring. I am going for give everyone a big feast for you have come and took delight in me.” He gave him much more than he requested.

Yes, my dear beloved, when you take delight in the Lord and ask Him for His forgiveness, the Saviour is waiting to take you in. He will give you more than what you desire in your heart. He will care for you in ways you have never thought of. He will provide you with much more than you need.

All that you need to do is to run to Him with your flaws and failures. He doesn’t look at them instead He looks at the work of Jesus Christ on the cross and accepts you as His own child. He gives you His perfection and enables you to live worthy of His love. Will you run to Him now?

PRAYER:
Loving Father ! Lord, I pray to you, even though I am not worthy. Lord, accept me. Forgive my sins and cleanse my heart. Take away the sinful ways in me. Make me enjoy You Lord. Thank You for dying on the cross for me and making forgiveness possible. Help me to find delight in You and to have my desires centred around Your will. Grant me those desires and glorify Your name through me. In Jesus name, Amen.
