An Exciting and Responsible Future Awaits Those Who Are in Christ Jesus, the Son of God!

Within an ordinary light bulb there is a positive wire and a negative wire. Both are needed to give the light and the power to dispel the darkness.

We need both in the ministry of Jesus Christ, the Son of God.

We like to think that we, in the Western World, have a system of government which is the best. We call it a democracy. Well, it is better than many other systems, but what Almighty God decrees, and always has, is a dictatorship, and what is important is having a good dictator.

Jesus Christ is the right dictator, and when we pray, “Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven – Thy kingdom come” – it is for exactly this we are reading of in the book of Revelation and in Chapters 20 and 21 and 22, that we are praying. It will happen when the King comes again, and not until!

Then and then only will we have a world of peace and a world at peace.

There will be no more armies and no more wars. It will be the time for turning swords into ploughshares, with the capital the New Jerusalem. That will come as a shock to many.

All this is not limited only to man, but there will also be peace among the animals, as the lion and the lamb will lie down together, and that will be fulfilled when the Lion of the tribe of Judah and the Lamb of God returns.

The Bible makes wonderful sense when we do not change it.

When Jesus Christ comes to reign, the earth will be filled with justice – and it will be justice for everyone – justice for the oppressed and the poor, and everybody will have enough to eat. It will be a reign of peace and prosperity and justice.

Jesus Christ will fill the earth with the knowledge and the glory of God, and He will share His throne with others – with those who are called and chosen and faithful.

Do you see how all this relates so relevantly to our personal lives now? When Jesus comes it will be too late to change our mind. It will be too late to begin to get ready to be faithful.

This is not theological theory. This is not something remote. How we react to these verses will determine how we will live in the next week, because this Chapter focuses us upon Jesus Christ and the reign of Jesus Christ upon the earth, when he come to reign visibly and physically.

If you are called by Jesus Christ, and if you know that Jesus Christ has chosen you, then, be utterly faithful to Him now, and prepare to reign with Him when He returns to this earth.

What we believe greatly influences our behaviour. Belief affects our behaviour and doctrine affects our deed and our creed determines our conduct. That is why belief and doctrine and creed are so crucially and vitally important.

These visions are being given to the apostle John who was the youngest of Jesus’ twelve disciples, and now John is in his nineties and he has been imprisoned for his faith in Christ on the isle of Patmos off the coast of modern day Turkey. John sees the martyrs – those faithful witnesses to Jesus Christ, and they are reigning.

Are Christians aware of this today? Do people know that those who are called and faithful and chosen by Jesus Christ and who are ‘born again’ will one day reign with Jesus Christ when He returns?

It is an exciting future which awaits those who are in Christ Jesus, and that is why it is good to take time now to ensure that all is well with your life when He returns. Repent and believe and be baptised in water and receive the anointing power of the Holy Spirit. That helps a man lay the basic foundation on which everything else can be built.
