Churchs are relatively rare in Vietnam and many are kind of secretive too since ehum it’s not the free-est place in the world. I prayed to be able to go to church, and guess what, I found one right close to where I lived in March, the whole service and everything was in Vietnamese and it was honestly a LONG service…longer than any I think I’ve ever been to. The singing was great, I recorded some of the songs we sang, the singing was my favourite part, it was amaaazing ~ loud, joyful and I was glad to be there. Though of course the Living God isn’t as “traditional” and familiar to people here (including my family) as stone ‘gods’ and wooden deities and dead ancestors, I was told to not go again. That was the first time I went to church in Vietnam, and the last til today. Hearing so many voices singing of the Lord together was probably the most beautiful thing I witnessed in this country.
The first song is Hosanna, and the second I don’t actually know, but it’s beautiful, it was beautiful. Hosanna 🙂
