The word of the Lord came down, Zephaniah did proclaim,
In the days of King Josiah, he called upon God’s name.
“I will consume all things,” saith the Lord of hosts,
“From man to beast, fowls to fish, they’ll vanish like ghosts.”

Oh, the day of the Lord is near, it comes with trumpet sound,
A day of wrath and darkness, where the lost will not be found.
Neither silver nor gold can save, from the fire of His might,
For the land shall be devoured, in the jealous flame of light.

Upon Judah and Jerusalem, His hand will stretch and sway,
He’ll cut off Baal’s remnant, and false priests will pay.
Those who worship the heavens, upon their rooftops high,
And those who swear by idols, their prayers will meet the sky.

Oh, the day of the Lord is near, it comes with trumpet sound,
A day of wrath and darkness, where the lost will not be found.

Hold your peace in His presence, for the Lord prepares a feast,
His guests are bid, His wrath descends, upon the great and least.
Princes and kings in strange attire, their judgment day shall see,
The merchants and the violent, from punishment won’t flee.

Cry from the fish gate echoes, a howl from the second street,
The hills resound with crashing, as the judgment drums do beat.
The mighty men shall weep and mourn, in the voice of that great day,
For darkness, clouds, and desolation, will sweep the land away.
