We live in a world where everyone encounters fear. In hundreds of situations throughout scripture, God, knowing how much fear can cripple our lives, said “ Do not be afraid, I am with you, I will never leave you nor forsake you”. These were the exact same words I heard when I felt overwhelmed by fear. But God revealed Himself to me as “Shomri”, a Hebrew word for “protector”. This song was written as a reminder of who God is to us. It is an affirmation of His promises – to stir up our faith as we face adversities and to break every shackle of fear, in Jesus’ Mighty Name.
